I had the opportunity to style Sir Ian McKellen's hair for the 2002 GQ Man of the Year Awards at the Hammerstein Ballroom. (When the we arrived at his penthouse to begin prepping him for the show he promptly dismissed his title and asked us to call him Ian.)
