Mainstage, Fashion Focus, Toronto

Long hair scene at BSG

It was a great week in Toronto! Redken Canada had me back to do a main stage presentation for the Beauty Systems Group Fashion Focus Show.I have always loved working in Canada and the team that I had on the show was AMAZING!

Anthony Watson was with me on stage and lead the team on all of the color for the models. His talent for color is only surpassed by his sense of humor and his ability to translate his techniques for the audience.

Taca Ozawa , Steve Racine, Jeff Jager, and Chris Nicholson were the team. As usual they did a great job with everything from color to finishing the models for the show. These guys know how to pay attention to detail! Everything was finished to perfection and not even the smallest detail was left unattended. Many thanks guys!

The wardrobe was done for me by Pascal and Jérémie. What can I say? These guys are incredible. Having worked with them in July at the STRUT magazine Cover Competition event, I knew there would be no worries about the wardrobe for the show. They pulled the clothes from Canada's best designers using inspiration tears that I sent them prior to the show. These two are major talents in Canada's fashion industry, having done work at Canadian fashion week events, Television production and film.

Pascal and Jérémie are currently working on a new magazine publication featuring the best that Canadian design has to offer, more details soon...

Extra special thanks go to-

Julie Adam for all the pre-event planning and also for calling the show from the soundboard, not one missed cue!

Terry Ritcey for striving to make Redken Canada events the best!

Renata Merton for keeping me on track and for the great job as model room coordinator, I can still hear "last chance for the bathroom!..."

Giorgio Armani Spring 2005

We did the hair for Armani's spring show at Pier 59. There were at least 50 hairdressers and 50 make up artists behind the scenes getting over 160 models ready for the show!

Björk for Paper Magazine

For the 20th Aniversary Issue of Paper Magazine we used the first hairpiece that I made while Shoplifter and I were working out the concept for the Medulla cover. Björk has beautiful eyes and the hairpiece is edgy and modern without taking anything away from her unusual beauty. Björk also wore this hairpiece out to Dellancey, a club on the lower east side, where she was DJ-ing a party. It was a great time.

Fashion Week, As Four

Spring 2005-

Many editors called this collection one of As Four's best. We refferenced one of the major details of the collection by wrapping the model's hair around ping pong balls which made for the next "perfect pony-tail."

Björk Medulla

I worked with my friend Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir AKA "Shoplifter "on the project for Björk's new album cover for "Medulla." "Shoppy" is an artist who works with hair in a lot of her installations and when Björk approached her to do the project she came to me to collaborate on the looks that we would do for the promo shoots and the album cover. It is great to have the opportunity to work with someone who really lets you go full on with a concept. Björk is such a beautiful and creative woman. Look for more posts in the archives of the various shoots to promote the album.
