Fashion Week, As Four

Fall 2005 –
As Four is one of my favorite shows to work. This Gotham Hall event drew all kinds of alternative luminaries, from Vincent Gallo and Lisa Marie to nightlife legends Kenny Kenny and Suzanne Bartsch. Backstage, Kai Kühne described the theme of the collection as "a full circle: perfection from beginning to end." The models walked in rings around the curved interior of the space (which meant good views for the large, enthusiastic crowd.)

Sometimes doing hair for the shows can be a challenge... This show the challenge was to make it look as if we did absolutely nothing, and it was not so easy with the girls coming in from the other shows with so much product in their hair, but in the end it all worked out well.

The couture gowns in this show were stunning, think "Oscars." The hair we did was very small with a very shallow wave to frame the face and ultra high gloss. We layered Hardwear Gel into the hair section by section using a tint brush to apply it and control the shape.

Near dissaster backstage:

On my way to the washroom just before the show, I tripped over a camera bag and nearly knocked Liza Minnelli down... (What a scandal that would have been!)
